Just saw a television commercial for CNN. Connie Chung will start her new show tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. Central. In the commercial she says that she will ask the questions we want her to ask.
CNN is now owned by AOL Time Warner. Ted Turner used to own CNN, but he sold out to Time Warner which later merged with AOL. Ted had the formula for solid news programming. AOL Time Warner does not. They are grasping at straws. Experimenting. And flopping in the process. Or maybe the problem lies with the news watching audience. Maybe Ted foresaw a future trend in news watching audiences and just decided to sell out before things started sinking.
Speaking of sinking, have you seen how AOL's stock has gone way down in value? According to the little stock scroll on my AIM window, it closed on Friday at $15.06. That's down from about $50.00 three years ago, and from about $36.00 less than a year ago. What does that say about a company?
Back to the topic of this web journal. One thing, among others, it lacks is the ability to have the updates tracked or to be syndicated. So, with that in mind, and with things the way they are presently, I really am on the outside looking in. Darn it! I got in the game late.
Okay, after this I'm going to shut up about the workings of this journal. I just checked out some blogs on Blogger, and honestly they're either quite vicious or quite lame. So, if I do do something, it'll probably be with Movable Type which seems to attract a much more civilized and mature user base. At this point, it's just a matter of when. In the meantime, this is me. This is my journal. And this is just fine. There. That's all.
Hmm. I see Jamie Lee Curtis is back in a new Halloween movie. Halloween: The Resurrection. Thing is, they're bringing it out in July. I wonder why not in October?
Another thing on my wish list is an IE favicon for my web site. I'm thinking it should be simple and in a gray and pinkish motif to match this web journal. Someday I'll get around to that, unless, of course, someone beats me to it.
That's all for this wonderful and glorious lost weekend. Back to the grindstone tomorrow.
