I really just want to connect with someone. And it seems impossible to connect with the one person I want to connect with. I'm sad.
Anyway, on to other things. An interesting article in today's local paper talks about author Gail Pursell Elliott and her book, "Mobbing: Emotional Abuse in the American Workplace". The title is self-explanatory. The article discusses how emotional abuse among employees is harmful to a business's bottom line. If that's the focus it takes to change this behavior, then fine.
Fortunately for me, most of my work experience has been in "one-man one-girl" offices. But, the one office I did work at in Chicago where mob mentality ran amuck, I found my own niche where I didn't have to deal with those who would try to put me down. I set myself apart from the mobsters. Maybe I should write a book about it. Ya think? Editing on the sly. Again. Starting over. Oops.
