Monday Mission 1007

Another edition of Monday Mission:

1. Does your family ever have any reunions or annual get-togethers? Do you enjoy them? As far as I know, the Carnes family has never had a reunion since I was born. Of course, they could be having annual reunions and just not telling me for all I know. Not really, since my brother, my sister, me, and our kids, are the end of the line. Several years ago, my sister threw a Carnes family reunion. She even had t-shirts made for the event. Thing is, though, it was just the usual suspects in attendance. The last family reunion on my mom's side of the family was in the summer of 1963. I was there and everyone seemed about 80 years old.

2. Are you a picture person? Do you like taking photos, and having yours taken? I love taking pictures. I do not like having my picture taken. I used to, but I don't any more.

3. Time for show and tell: post a recent photo of yourself! Umm. Maybe.

4. Did you ever have a nick-name growing up? How did it come about? Did you ever give anyone a nickname that stuck? This question sound vaguely familiar. One of my best girlfriends in high school called me "Reenee" (pronounced Reenee, not Ranay). I named another of my best girlfriends, "Gull." I still call her that and she loves it.

5. If you could design the bathroom of your dreams, what would it be like? Spare no expense! I don't dream about bathrooms. Just as long as everything works, that'll be fine.

6. What shows (if any) do you own in a video collection? What TV shows would you like to see collected on DVD or video? Unless you count one video as a collection (Labyrinth with David Bowie), I don't have a video collection.

7. Do you have any favorite movies from your childhood? Do you think you would still enjoy them if you watched them today? Hmm favorite movies from my childhood... I still like Mary Poppins and the songs. I still like Romeo & Juliet (the one with Olivia Hussey as Juliet) and I love the soundtrack. And from the same year, one of my all time favorite movies from my childhood, Yellow Submarine with the Beatles. And I love that soundtrack too. In retrospect, it appears my favorite childhood movies were all musicals. Intersting, since now, I really don't care for musicals.

BONUS: Don't you know you're sleeping in a spotlight? Only when you hold me in your arms. *sigh*

Me at the Illinois Vietnam War Memorial.
