This is the gazebo in Springfield's historic Washington Park. The gazebo has an acoustic quality like none I've heard anywhere else. Not sure if its good or bad acoustic, since I wouldn't know the difference. I don't hang out much there anymore. But, back "in the day," you could go there on a Sunday afternoon and sometimes hear some guy playing folk songs or Lynard Skynard on his guitar. I wonder if they still do that? It's very peaceful there.

There are tons of scenic photo ops in Washington Park, not the least of which is the beautiful and truly acoustic Thomas Rees memorial carillon. Unfortunately, I didn't get the shot I wanted as it would have entailed me squirming around on the ground on my back, and I was on my lunch hour and there were just too many people milling about to subject them to such a scene. Maybe next time.
