Three more TLD's

Via C|Net News.com, ICANN will be soliciting proposals for three new top level Internet domains. The first question that comes to mind is, do we really need three more .somethings. Well, I guess we do. From the memo:

... [A]ll of the applicants that submitted unsuccessful proposals for new sponsored TLDs in 2000 would be invited to update and resubmit their proposals; in addition, new sponsored TLD proposals would be accepted from new proposers. Cost allocation would have to be assessed, but there should be a differential fee recognizing, in all due fairness, that the original proposals from the 2000 round of applicants from 2000 (who have already paid $50,000 to ICANN) have already been subjected to evaluation.

$50,000?!? I had no idea. Wow! I wonder if, when they originally set up the first three, anyone considered having a .porn? Just a thought. Okay, without further adieu and explanation and $50,000, here are my three proposals:

You had no idea? I worked for a company that paid the $50k to apply, and was told, during the meeting, that the "winners" had already been chosen. Sure enough, the "winners" were exactly who the person told me said they'd be. It's been a scam since the beginning. Ask Bret.
