Christmas passed
A good time was had by all.
We got up about mid-morning and opened presents. It was a pleasant time. I love that I now have virtually no anxiety over the whole presents thing. This is a relatively new thing for me. Part of it can be attributed to the fact that my girls are older. I think.
Same with the food. That is, I didn't go overboard, as in past years, putting food on the Christmas dinner table. I'm not sure what time we ate exactly. But, we were done by 3:00 in the afternoon.
My brother, his wife, and their two girls came over afterwards. They live only about two blocks away, but we rarely get together as a family. I really enjoy being around them, though. Maybe that's because we rarely get together. I love how a few well placed words can spin them into an argument. It's hilarious to watch. I don't think they even realize they're doing it. We formed a consensus to never again refer to food as "chunks." As in cheese chunks or chunks of sausage on a pizza. Whew — one of life's bigger debates finally solved.
Tomorrow (today) it's back to work for me. It seems like I should have the day off, but, unfortunately, I don't.
I hope everyone else had an anxiety-free day, too.

But chunks of cheese are a good thing! ;) Glad to hear your holidays went so well and that you were able to enjoy the time together!
