Final Monday Mission

Final Monday Mission for the year on a Tuesday, no less:

1. Which Blog post of yours was one of your favorites of 2002? I have no idea. I like 'em all. I'm just glad I finally got on the stick with a really great web host that could support Movable Type and more.

2. Were there any "old acquaintances" that should be forgot this year? Heh.

3. Did you finish what you started last week? Looking at my plate, I see that last week's mess has been cleaned up, so I must have.

4. Will you be doing anything to celebrate "New Year's Eve?" Any traditional food or drinks you associate with "New Year's?" Staying home safe and sober. See previous post.

5. What was the coolest present you got this year? I got two really cool presents this year. My first pair of skater socks from my oldest daughter, and Forty Licks (the CD) from my youngest.

6. The day after Christmas, around 3pm, I drove by a car where the driver and his passenger were each drinking a beer; there was no mistake about it. I was shocked, because I'd never seen anyone actually do this. And wasn't sure what I should do about it. What would you do in the same situation? Interesting. Just the other day, with my oldest daughter in the car with me, I glanced in the rearview mirror and noticed the guy behind me swigging from a pint of something. I turned left at the next corner so as to get out from in front of him. There's a new program in Illinois where if you see someone driving erratically (or, drinking), you're supposed to report them on your cell phone. I don't have a cell phone.

7. Have you ever driven a car while drinking alcohol? Ever driven drunk or known anyone who has? How'd that turn out? To the first question, once and only once. I was the passenger in a car where the driver and the passenger were both drinking. The second question, I have driven drunk more than a few times. Completely stupid and without any good judgment on all counts. Fortunately, nothing bad happened any of those times. And, I'll never do it again.

Bonus: Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated? Or is it just a matter of complicated is in the eye of the beholder? Perhaps the answer can best be found in the words to a song.....

(Ah, har har har har)
She looks so simple in her way
Does the same thing everyday
But she's dedicated
To having her own way
She's very complicated
(Ah, har, har, har, har)

Yeah

Women seem to fill her mind
And many men in so short time
But she's underrated
She treats me oh so kind
She's very complicated
(Ha, har har har, har)

Yeah

We talk together and discuss
What is really best for us
She's sophisticated
My head's fit to bust
Cause she's so complicated
Ah,. ha har har, har

She knows just how to please her man
Softer than a baby lamb
But she's educated
Doesn't give a damn
She's very complicated
(Har, har har har, har)
Na, na na na num

She looks so simple in her way
Does the same thing everyday
But she's dedicated
To having her own way
She's very complicated
(Har, har har har, har....)

Lyrics, Jagger/Richards

Marie,
Well that's good you know that drinking and driving is wrong now... Alot of people don't figure it out until it's too late.

I found this one anti drinking and driving
site though, it's crazy how many people a year die from it. They talk about the
use of these breathalyzer key chains to
help reduce DUI's but I'm not sure if that would work or not.

oh yea, I don't understand what I'm supposed to get out of that song... Next time narrow down to one line :P
