First work day

Just another day.

Wake up to the sound of the snow plow speeding down my street. It's snowing. Arr. My first thought is, this is not good since the only place to park my car at work is the street. Springfield has a two inch rule. That is, you're not allowed to park on certain streets when there are two or more inches of snow. Arr. That problem was solved shortly later when I went outside to start my car and it wouldn't start. I have no idea what the problem is. I'll try it again later tonight.

All day long I kept thinking it was Monday. Imagine my surprise when about 4:00 I realized it was really Thursday.

Two good things came out of the day, though. One, I got an offer of a great job reference from a very prestigious lawyer in Peoria. And, two, I lined up a little side gig. I'm going to teach a lawyer how to use a computer, word processing, and the Internet. He's never had a secretary and he just bought a really great laptop. When I asked him what he got, he didn't know. He's going to pay me for my time. Now, I just have to figure out what to charge.

FYI, the going rate around my house for "computer Consulting" or "computer training" is $25- $35/hr unless you are CompUSA, then its higher.
