Monday Mission 0127

PromoGuy Monday Mission 3.04. Dive.

1. Do you care for poetry? Do you have a favorite poem? Care to share some of it? You've asked about this before. I think. Maybe if I could actually write poetry, I might have a better appreciation for it. Try as I might, I just don't understand it. Oh, I just remembered. I did write a poem once. It was only four lines. It's not my favorite (if I actually had a favorite), but someone read it on my behalf at a bagel shop. I wasn't there, but they said it got a standing ovation. It was about the red light that flashes on top of the radio tower. If I can find it around here, I'll post it later.

2. What does it take to "rock your world?" Rock? I gotta tell ya. At this juncture in my world, it's the simple things. Sunsets. Moon. Stars. A smile. A touch. Kindness given freely with nothing expected in return. Stuff like that.

3. Have you ever done anything that landed you in financial trouble? Has somebody else's action ever caused you financial ruin? What happened? Financial trouble is my middle name! Just suffice to say I could have made better choices. I am, however, better with other people's money than my own. No one, other than me, has had a chance to cause me financial ruin.

4. Take a stroll down memory lane. There is a song, that every time you hear it, you think of this one person. What's the song, who is the person, and what memories does it conjure up? Almost every song reminds me of something or someone. I associate music with people, places, and times. The memories run deep. That's all I'm going to say.

5. I've never cared for football, it was never on in the house growing up and I never developed a "taste" for it. But I've always felt like I "should" enjoy it, that I was deficient in some way because I never get excited about things like the Super Bowl (except for the commercials). Are there any occasions when you feel like you are missing out on something that everyone else seems to enjoy? No.

6. A few of the phrases that get under my skin are "take it to the next level" (which was used when I was told why I was being replaced at Fox by someone who could do that) and "you just don't get it" (always popular in relationship fights). What phrases "push your buttons" and why? A few, maybe. When someone refers to something as having "all the bells and whistles," when clearly it has no bells and whistles at all. Yeah, I take things too literally.

7. Do you believe in life after death? What do you believe happens when our time is up?* (*Question provided by Jill. Woo hoo, Jill!) Life after death. The great beyond. Yeah, I believe in it. The body is discarded. The soul (spirit, inner being, whatever) moves on to the next level. Some call it heaven. I don't pretend to know what heaven is. I'm just sure this isn't it.

BONUS: Everybody's talking all this stuff about me why don't they just let me live? Uh, ‘cuz you hang out with Whitney Houston?

Comments

The road to my love has never been far,
Yet Its miles away.

The path to my soul was rough and jagged,
Yet You've smoothed it.

The way to my heart was treacherous,
Yet You are here.

The trails of my tears were long,
And you with that kerchief made of love, wipe them from my face and tell me with that touch that I am found.
