The Riddler

Frank Gorshin was just on the Letterman show with guest host, Tom Dreesen. One word for Tom Dreesen: Wholesome.

As for Frank Gorshin, ya had to know I'm a huge fan having grown up in the age of Batman. Of course, he was the Riddler on the Batman series with Adam West. Frank Gorshin is currently starring in a one-man play on Broadway titled, "Goodnight Gracie," about the life and times of George Burns and Grace Allen, two American treasures.

I actually met Frank Gorshin for a very brief moment. The year was 1981. I think. He was starring in a one-man play titled, "The Man with the Plastic Sandwich." There was a tiny little Drury Theatre in the round (or was it square?) in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Chicago. My girlfriend got tickets to the show and invited me along. It was the first time I'd seen a one-person play and I really loved it. As I recall, the play was about a businessman on his lunch hour. His only prop was a small paper bag. After the show, he walked through the audience, shaking people's hands and introducing himself. It was great.

Well, maybe I dreamed the whole Frank Gorshin Plastic Sandwich thing. I just did a Google search and found nothing. I'm sure it was him, though.
