Illinois political blogs [updated]

UPDATED November 10, 2008. This original post was written over five years ago. The Illinois blogosophere has changed a lot since then. To find the Illinois political blogs, go to:

The Capitol Fax Blog

That is the number one Illinois political blog and the best source for up to the minute information on Illinois politics. If anyone is looking for more, he has a lot of blogs listed in his sidebar. Thanks.

P.S. While there, if you sign up for Rich Miller's daily newsletter, TheCapitolFax, tell him I sent you.

END OF UPDATE

No one ever asks me where the blogs about Illinois politics are. Occasionally, I do get a search request for something along the lines of "Illinois politics blog" or "Illinois blogs" something like that. Among the many blogs I'm now reading, but aren't included in my blogroll are ArchPundit and the Political State Report: Illinois.

Oh! I just put Arch Pundit in my blogroll. There.

No Soldier Left Behind or How I Won My Cousin a Multi-Billion Dollar Contract.

In 1991 the Senate created the Select Senate Committee on POW/MIA Affairs to investigate the possibility that U.S. POWS/MIAs were still alive in Viet Nam.
Acting as chairman, Kerry helped persuade the group to vote unanimously that no American servicemen still remained in Vietnam.
In doing so, he helped begin the process of normalizing U.S.-Vietnamese relations.

But Kerry's participation in the Committee became controversial in December 1992 when Hanoi announced that it had awarded Colliers International, a Boston-based real estate company, an exclusive deal to develop its commercial real estate potentially worth billions. Stuart Forbes, the CEO of Colliers, is Kerry's cousin. (The Center for Public Integrity, www.publicintegrity.org)

This angered many families of POWs and MIAs who felt their loved ones were possibly still alive and that their lives and the possibility

of someday finding them was traded away so that Senator Kerry's cousin could make billions in an exclusive real estate deal.
