How hungry

Because I spent my lunch hour doing things besides eating, Iím really hungry right now. There is a little kitchenette across the hall from the door to my office. It belongs to another company we share this building with. On the table in the kitchenette is a very large bag of tortilla chips. Every time I walk by there, I can see it through the wide open door to the kitchenette. The bag is a little more than half empty. The bag is wide open. I think the bag might be calling to me. M_A_R_I_E.

There are three possible considerations here. One, stealing food. The people that work in the other office are very generous with their food. Theyíre always saying, ďif you want something just help yourself.Ē So, I doubt if they would mind if I took a couple handfuls without being invited. Two, the chips, depending on how long that bag has been open, might be stale. Actually, even if they are stale, thatís not a problem. Iíve eaten plenty of stale food before. Now that Iíve talked myself out of the first two things, itís the third thing thatís Iím having trouble getting over. Little mice might have been crawling in and out of that bag gorging themselves on tortilla chips all day when no one was looking.

Should I run in there and grab a couple handfuls of chips or not? Youíd think I could just wait a couple hours until I get home. But those chips are really calling my name.

Late in the day at work is the worst time for me and hunger. I think it's a combination of hunger and being bored. So I have this urge to go in search of food. Sometimes I beat the urge, sometimes the urge beat me. I could never resist chips calling my name.

That was a tough one, but I decided to hold off until I got home from work.
