What to do when it's eleven below

Current: -11 F Clear
Humidity: 85%
Wind Speed: WNW 6 MPH
Barometer: 30.19 in.
Dewpoint: -14F
Heat Index: -11F
Wind Chill: -25F

One winter when my girls were about 12 and 13, the temperature got down to 20 below zero on a Saturday morning. That was the actual temp, not windchill. We took a small pan of boiling water outside and flung it (the water, not the pan) off the front porch. We watched in awe as small cloud formed and rose and the water instantly froze in midair. It was so cool and a fun thing to do with the girls. We did this over and over and over again, until my arm got tired.

that was so much fun, i thought about it tonight, as well. dont forget about the t-shirt, we soaked in bouiling water then hung outside and watched it freeze in under 30 seconds.
