Firebrand

I’m sweating. I’m just this side of suffering. I’m burning up having just consumed about three-fourths of a bowl of the hottest chili I’ve ever tasted. Hot as in hot hot hot. Not heat hot hot. My co-worker got it at one of the local chili parlors. Then, I drank an entire can of Diet Coke in almost one chug. That helped a little. For about a minute. Apparently, my stomach can still handle the hot stuff. It’s the rest of me I’m worried about. My mouth will never be the same.
