First class tech support

I started using WordPerfect when their telephone tech support was all free. Those days are gone. I think I called them once. And whatever the problem was, once I got the answer, I was surprised how easy it was. After that, I just started figuring everything out on my own. Now, at least once a week someone calls me to find out how to do something in WordPerfect. Sometimes they even ask me how to do something in MS Word. After sufficiently chastising them for not using WP, I give them the answer.

Tonight I was trying to create a formula in Excel. No, not Excel, actually. It was Quattro Pro. I have Excel at work and Quattro Pro home. I thought I could do this project in Quattro Pro at home and then e-mail it to my office so I could have it in the morning. Quattro Pro easily converts to Excel. I wish I could say it was a complex formula, but it wasn’t. I just couldn’t get it to do what I wanted. I thought, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to call tech support and get an answer on the phone. But, no dice. Instead, I called my brother who happens to be a pro with Excel. Without even sitting down at his computer he was able to guide me through it. Problem solved. That is first class tech support.
