World War II Memorial

Centerpiece of the Illinois World War II Memorial shot today just before dusk. I didn't attend the dedication last weekend, but I heard that both Republican and Democrat politicians gathered together as one.
One of the inscriptions reads, "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." Gen. George S. Patton.
I'll go back on a sunny day and take some better pictures.
