Drug dealing neighbors

"The neighborhood is going down hill." That's what my neighbor to the south told me a couple nights ago. I agree.

A big part of the problem is the neighbors to the north.

The fact that they do their outdoor grilling in the front yard when they have a back yard has unnerved some of the other neighbors. Except for them, everyone around here does their outdoor cooking in the backyards. I've seen this before, though. A lot of apartment dwellers from my old neighborhood in Chicago often cook on their hibachis in the front sidewalk. No big deal. Usually, that's because they don't have access to a backyard.

That they cook out in the front yard isn't really the problem. The problem is that they appear to be dealing drugs from the house. The biggest evidence, and probably the only evidence, is different cars coming and going all night long. Not a lot of cars. Usually, it's just two or three cars. The people in these cars never stay more than a few minutes. Usually they leave their car engines running while they run up to the neighbors' porch.

That's got to be drug dealing. I can't think of any legitimate reason for this behavior.

One time (that I know of), one of their "visitors" mistook our front porch for the neighbors' porch. That was at 3:00 in the morning. My daughter called the police. The police came, but of course, it was too late for the cops to witness any suspicious activity.

This week I'm going to call the police, someone from our neighborhood association, and, possibly, the owner of the house. Something has to be done.
