A man for all women

Not a plot for a stage play.

He does everything for his wife. So she can have a life.

He does everything for his daughters. So they can lay around on the sofa, eating potato chips, drinking Cokes, and watching TV.

He does everything for his mother. Otherwise, she'd probably be dead.

He does everything for his sister. Because he's all she knows.

He has a full time job. He brings home the bacon. He does the shopping, the cooking, the housework, the yard work. He does the laundry and takes out the garbage. He does the plumbing, the electrical, the carpentry. He fixes the brakes and changes the oil.

He does the shit work. The things no one else can do, or will do, or wants to do.

If something horrible needs to be done and he doesn't do it, there's a pretty good chance it doesn't get done.

Oh, they never forget to say thank you.

He never complains.

He works hard and he likes to have fun. He'd especially like to have some fun with one of these women. But, they have other things to do. Instead, he floats around on the lake in his little boat by himself. Thinking. We can only wonder what he thinks about out there. Because he never says.

And, right about now, any man reading this is thinking how glad he is that he's not the man in that family. That, or he's nodding his head in total understanding.

Happy Father's Day, my little brother.

Damn, Marie! That there was a tribute and a half. Your brother sounds like a remarkable guy.

Me, I don't do half of all that stuff. And I complain about what I do manage to do. Hmmm.
