From one extreme

... to another, with hatred and malice:

[Televangelist Pat] Robertson’s suggestion Monday that the United States “take out” Chavez to stop Venezuela from becoming a “launching pad for communist influence and Muslim extremism” appeared likely to aggravate tensions between the United States and the world’s fifth-largest oil exporting country. (MSNBC: Venezuela reacts to Robertson statement; Televangelist wants Chavez killed; White House calls idea 'inappropriate')

We won't be hearing any criticism of Robertson by his followers and believers. Most likely, they are dismayed and agape that the "you are either with us or agin' us administration" is in disagreement.

Dave of the Eleventh Hour, has this assessment:

Robertson is only one of many who have hijacked Christianity to serve their radical rightwing political ends. One of the ugliest things to appear on the American political landscape over the last 25 years has been the melding of these hateful, alleged men of God and the extremist politics of the new right. Robertson is the face of that evil.

I doubt we'll be seeing any of these signs around:

So, I made one myself at the Church Sign Generator.

Isn't it ironic that for rightwing religious leaders like Robertson God always hates the same people they do? (Love the church sign generator by the way. There are so many things I've always wanted to say on a church sign.)

The sign generator is awesome.

So is Robertson's combination of arrogance, stupidity, and dementia. Not often you find megadoses of all three qualities in one package. A real gift from [your deity here].
