Five in the fast lane

  1. In Chicago, they call it the expressway. Down here, we call it the highway.
  2. They call it the underpass or overpass. We call it, the bridge or speed trap.
  3. In Chicago, entire neighborhoods were decimated by cutting the expressway through the city. Back here on the prairie, we build entire neighborhoods around the highway.
  4. There, graffiti artists decorate the vast expanses of concrete for your viewing pleasure. Here, deer saunter across the highway and smash into your car.
  5. There, they have express lanes. Here, we have the shoulder.
