Looking for Lincoln
And finding him in all sorts of places:
- The Lincoln catafalque, the stand upon which Abraham Lincoln's casket was set in the United States Capitol rotunda is being used for the casket of Chief Justice of the United States, William H. Rehnquist, in the great hall of the U.S. Supreme Court. (NBC5: Supreme Court Justices, Nominee Honor Rehnquist.)
- A quilt made by Mary Todd Lincoln is owned by retired school teacher Roberta Kaczmarek, from Salem, Missouri. She is also a fifth generation cousin to Abraham Lincoln by marriage on the Todd side. Her ancestors traveled from Springfield, Missouri, to Springfield, Illinois for Lincoln's funeral, whereupon the Lincolns bestowed the quilt upon them. (Rolla Daily News: Lincoln's quilt used as educational tool.)
- A sculpture of Abraham Lincoln by Yuan Xikun, the Chinese sculptor, will be on display at the United Nations for its 60th anniversary. The display will include other sculptures by the same artist, including Leonhard Euler, Albert Einstein, Rajiv Gandhi and Charles Darwin. (Xinhua Online: Chinese sculptor's works to be exhibited at UN celebrations.)
Still looking.

What an unusual collection of people to sculpt. I guess you had the Wikipedia link for Euler but not the others because most folks wouldn't know who he was? In point of fact, I needed a link for Rajiv Ghandi who I know much, much less about then Euler.
Like your new colors.

Oh -- I have a good one for you. Later today. Or tonight, maybe.

Kem, you're right. I had no idea who Leonhard Euler is or was. But, knowing what I know now, I'm not at all surprised to hear that you do.
Well, as for Rajiv Ghandi, I just now looked him up to make sure I wasn't confusing him with one of the other Ghandis. And, I just want to say one thing: Nehru jacket!!!!!11
Thanks on the colors.
Dan, standing by....
