Gada Nada

It's almost impossible to not notice all the blog talk today about the new search engine. Tech Crunch: Gada - Tag Meta Search Done Right, describes it as, "a powerful tag meta-search engine that has an incredibly simple and thoughtful design."

I'm getting an odd sense of urgency from some blogs, and some comments on Tech Crunch, for to be successful. Or, that it will be some kind of savior search engine. I don't know. Maybe it just me. Or, maybe that's just the way of hype, or market, or promote.

Using both the default and blog modes, I tried it by using the search terms "Lincoln" and "Abraham Lincoln." I tried it numerous times over a three hour period after I posted "Lincoln for Idiots (and more)." My post never did show up on (It did show up on Technorati during that time frame.) did, however, return many results for spam blogs for things like mortgages and how to make money and blogs that had nothing to do with Lincoln. So, it looks like is just another repository for junk.

I believe Chris Pirillo, a professional geek (he's both a geek and plays one on TV), is one of the people behind this. A breathless promotional strategy is to be expected.

Hrm... I'm not seeing any spam in that URL? What were you trying in your search that returned poor results?
