Heading out

About 24 hours from now, I will no longer work at this job. If all continues to go as well as it has been, I'll leave here without burning any bridges and with my dignity in tact.

I must say, though, there is a certain temptation to throw myself at my boss's feet and plead for him to find a way to keep me around. I haven't ruled that out, yet. My co-worker wishes I would. Perhaps he should throw himself at my boss's feet and plead on my behalf.

Do you have something to fall back on? Got any leads on something new?

Nothing yet.

Well, it's a worthy thing to plead for. Maybe you can talk him into an incremental extension -- another month, say; or through the end of the year. From a distance of 1,800 miles or so, it seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

And if he won't go for an incremental extension, tell him you have an excremental intension.
