Looking for Lincoln links
When I first started writing about Abraham Lincoln on this website, the 200th anniversary of his birth seemed so far into the future. I just looked at the calendar and was startled to realize, it's now only three years away.
So, here are a few websites to aid in filling in the gaps from what I learned in school (which was so very little). Some of these sites I've linked to in the past. Some, I only recently discovered.
- The main page of The Presidential Papers of Abraham Lincoln Online. Navigation seemed a little clumsy until I followed one of the links at the top. There, I discovered a drop-down menu at the top right. My heart was gripped by the words of, "A Favor Seeker."
- The start page for Abraham Lincoln Online. A collection of excellent resources and information on Lincoln.
- The Complete Abraham Lincoln Papers at the Library of Congress. An amazing collection of 61,000 images and 10,000 transcripts.
- The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln sponsored by the Abraham Lincoln Association. There are several different search functions for those who know what they're looking for. Otherwise, I recommend "Browse Titles."
- The Lincoln Log: A Daily Chronology of the Life of Abraham Lincoln. A wealth of information, searchable by date and/or text.
- Journal of the Abraham Lincoln Association at the History Cooperative. "The Journal of the Abraham Lincoln Association (JALA) is the only journal devoted exclusively to Lincoln scholarship." Click "online edition," for journals going back to 1979. Amazing. The generosity of the people at the JALA is not lost on me.
Obviously, there are thousands more pages about Lincoln on the internet. These are just a few that I selected for their excellent content.

Thanks for the post, Marie. It's giving me something to browse while I'm away.

If each of the URLs you have listed, logs information about Lincoln, than I guess you have constructed a blog post out of Lincoln Logs.
