Like MySpace for people who eat

Finally, a social network you can sink your teeth into. I'm sure I'm not the first one to say that. LunchSpark:

lunchSpark is a lunch networking and dating community. lunchSpark helps you network, share information, find new friends, keep in touch with current friends, date, and more, under the context of lunch. It's a fun, minimal stress, casual way to connect, and with your help, reinvent lunch.

As expected, the 62701 area doesn't have a very big showing. However, there are a several restaurants listed with a few comments. And, not surprisingly, no lunch buddies in Springfield, yet.

Lunchspark. Interesting.

About 2 years ago I wrote a paper about the new emerging social networking sites for a class I was taking about america and the internet.

This was about the time Friendster (the other myspace) was becoming extremely popular.

I joined about 4-7 sites to do research about what functionality and real connections you could make through these sites. Really cool at the time, but as for cutting edge internet social networking sites, Springfield sucked butt. Hardly could find anyone from the Central Illinois area.

Shoo, I know exactly what you're talking about. Something is wrong with Springfield. I don't know what it is. Or, why. Someone should do a study.
