Thomas' Calculus (11th Edition) [UPDATED]

SOLD as of September 3, 2006. That. Was. Fast. FOR SALE

  • Hardcover: 1380 pages
  • Publisher: Addison Wesley; 11 edition (October 5, 2004)
  • Language: English
  • ISBN: 0321185587
  • Product Dimensions: 10.2 x 8.6 x 1.9 inches
  • Shipping Weight: 5.83 pounds

At 5.83 pounds, it should come with a push cart for toting it to class. It is heavy.

This isn't my book. No way. I'm selling it for Laura, my daughter. In the past, she's had great success buying and selling books at the school bookstore. Except not this book, for reasons I can't quite seem to pin down.

So, I went on Amazon late last night and put it up for sale. This is my first attempt at selling anything on Amazon, by the way. The whole process, from setting up an account, to listing the book, took less than three minutes. Pretty good.

I checked the lowest price of the used versions of this book, and priced mine $1.00 lower than the lowest. So clever. And smart. And shrewd. Then today, I went back and discovered there are three new listings for the book - all underpricing me. Ar. Is that how the game is played there? I really don't know, but it looks like it. I guess I shouldn't complain since that's basically what I did.

Send me an offer, including shipping, at mariecarnes [at] gmail.com, and it could be yours. I'm pretty sure this'll be the last year for this book to be used as a textbook. So, get it while it's hot.

Edit to add: I just noticed the Amazon.com sales rank for this book as of today is #4,857. Gosh, that's better than the Bob Dylan Encylopedia, which is at 7,495 (which I'm thinking about buying).

Sorry, Marie, I already have it, although I think mine's the 2nd edition. It came in two volumes. I've heard that George Thomas is one of the few guys to get rich off writing a mathematics text book. As far as college texts go, he's a bestseller. Good luck with the sale.
