Journey's end

Two hundred years ago today, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, also known as the Corps of Discovery, ended their journey in the village of Saint Louis.

I've been following New Orleans attorney, Jim Petersen's the "Lewis and Clark: What Else Happened" blog every day since May of 2004. Except for when Jim had to set blogging aside for a while after Hurricane Katrina, each day was an adventure and an education.

He followed the expedition through their daily journal entries from Wood River, Illinois, to the Pacific Ocean and back. In addition, each day he clued us in to some other historic event of the same time (hence, the "What Else Happened" part). Thanks, Jim.

Read all the journals and more: University of Nebraska at Lincoln: Journals of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

What a cool site - thanks for sharing the link to Jim Petersen's blog. I can't wait to find time to read through it all!
