With fond memories of Falstaff Beer.

Falstaff beer. Now that does take me back!

That's a great pic, Marie.

One of Falstaff's Breweries is still here in New Orleans and still visible against the New Orleans skyline. They have a tower on top of it that includes a ball and the word "Falstaff" spelled vertically in neon letters. When the letters lit up from bottom to top, the temp was rising. When they lit up from top to bottom, temp was falling. When they flashed all at once, the temp was steady. The ball would alternate between red and white depending on the humidity. It hasn't lit since they closed the brewery. Seeing that sign when we used to visit my bedridden aunt in the French Quarter is one of my fondest memories as a kid.

Didn't realize they had a picture of it. OK, Marie, I think this is one of my favorite blog posts ever.

Don Ray, Not that far back ;)

Thanks, Rob. That Falstaff sign in New Orleans is too cool. I wonder how it would look on CrabAppleLane. (Just kidding.)

If I could buy it and get it to work, Marie, I would.

The hand-painted "Falstaff" on the brick (so much better than the beer itself) wall really makes the scene
