Barack the vote!

We have a candidate! Just an hour ago, Barack Obama announced his candidacy for President of the United States of America against the backdrop of the Old State Capitol Building in Springfield, Illinois. A crowd of 17,000+ turned out in ten degree temperatures, under sunny skies, to show their support.

Last update. I couldn't resist this Flickr set from photo-editorialist, washburn, who apparently couldn't resist some local sightseeing.

I must be feelin my age. That took a lot out of me.
I never get the sniffles much anymore, but awoke the next day with a case (I'm feeling better).

We all weren't so lucky as to be out in the sunny day portion of your description. Some of us, actually thousands, and thousands ended up in the shadow of the CIPS-Ameren building.

Just so cold.
