Is yourspace myspace or whospace

This little blip just came across the radar: Sifry: The Battle to Control Obama's Myspace. The proprietor of Barack Obama's myspace community and the Obama campaign have had something of a falling out:

But as the site exploded in popularity in recent months, the campaign became concerned about an outsider having control of the content and responses going out under Obama's name and told Anthony they wanted him to turn it over.

The community of 160,000 Obama friends, has now been taken over by the Obama campaign courtesy of myspace management. There's a lesson here for all involved.

I, too, maintain myspace pages for people other than myself, to-wit:

To get an idea of how big myspace is in the world of online communities, check out, "Where are the cliffs of insanity?" (That, via.)

Updated: Replaced SRJ/AP link in the first paragraph with a link to a more detailed and permanent article.

I think I'm ashamed to admit this but I really haven't figured out what Myspace is or why I would want anything there. My son has a page there, which I've looked at. Now I've seen yours (and Alice's and Nellie's). It's always distresses me each time I realize I've turned into my parents.

Kem, I think we all become our parents at some point.
