Garlic dreams

That's my mind.

I woke up a short bit ago to a really loud thud. And I realized it was the front door. Allie was walking through the house talking on her cell phone. I thought, how strange that she's home from the Army so unexpectedly. They must have dropped her off in the middle of the night. But, I was really glad.

I sat up and realized I hadn't seen Madison in a really long time so I started softly calling his name to make sure he was okay and because I didn't want her to think I wasn't taking very good care of him while she was gone. But, he didn't come and I started to worry.

I looked into the dining room and I could only see Allie from the back. She looked like she was going back out pretty quick. So, I yelled, hey! But, she couldn't or wouldn't hear me, which is really unlike her.

The whole time there is this really obnoxious, constant, indiscernible noise coming from somewhere.

And then I woke up again and realized that was all a dream and Madison died two and half years ago and Allie is still in the Army.

And the really obnoxious, constant noise was in reality an owl in the tree in front of the house. It was almost as if it had been calling me to get up. I went outside to see if I could spot it, but, of course, it stopped its incessant screeching as soon as I opened the door. Oh, I'm sure it was watching me from the dark recesses of that tree.

This all had to be caused by a combination of the owl noise and what turned out to be having an excessive amount of garlic for dinner.

Girl, that's not a dream, it's a full-fledged nightmare. Lay off that garlic and have a big glass of milk (yeah, it really works even though I hate the stuff)...
