Desperate?

Or bored? Or just stupid? From today's SJ-R breaking news line:

Teen girls arrested for holding up gift store at gunpoint
Two 15-year-old girls were arrested this afternoon for holding up a downtown gift shop at gunpoint.
The girls, both of Springfield, were arrested at Third and Jackson streets moments after fleeing from House of Gifts, 412 E. Monroe St. The reportedly left empty handed.
They were taken to the Sangamon County Juvenile Detention Center.
The incident happened shortly after noon when the two girls walked into the store. One was armed with a realistic-looking BB gun that looked like a .45-caliber automatic pistol, and the other was armed with a dagger-like knife. The girls demanded money from the employees.
The girls then ran out the store and were apprehended by Springfield police officers.

What were you doing the summer of your 15th year? Well, I had an almost full-time baby sitting job. The rest of the time I did my fair share of being bored and hanging out downtown.

I was working at my grandfather's auto parts store. Don't remember what I was doing in my spare time but armed robbery never entered my head. Back when milk used to be delivered, we stole chocolate milk on occasion. I was a mild delinquent.

I was walking in blistering heat through seemingly endless miles of corn.

Corn. Corn. Corn. Corn. Corn.

In search of America.

I was plowing on my uncles farm and thinking about the country fried chicken and good eats I was being fed by my aunt.
