Five gut reactions to "Cheney's Law"

  1. It seems Cheney's (and Bush's) interpretation of the presidential oath ("preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"): Just words on a page
  2. A disturbing mental image of an fiendishly giddy Cheney when 9/11 happened
  3. A new and better understanding that Bush was selected and why
  4. How totally surprising that John Aschroft becomes the voice of the People's conscience (even if only for a brief moment in time)
  5. Across the board question for all presidential debates: Where do you stand on the balance of power between the executive branch and congress in wartime and otherwise?

The show: PBS Frontline: Cheney's Law, via Odd Time Signatures, who is uncomfortably close to the Santa Rosa Valley Fire - stay safe, Karoli.

Hi Marie,

I thought it felt weird to be cheering Ashcroft on, too...but in the end, it shows exactly who really understands the Constitution and who doesn't.

The one who really frightens me is David Addington -- way too much power vested in a fanatic for my taste.

I hope you're going to post that question on video for the video debate being put together. I think they all need to answer that question first.
