World Military Games

Who knew there was a World Military Games? Obviously, not me. And, apparently not the U.S. media. Like the Olympics, they're held every four years. But, only since 1995. The 2007 games were October 14 through yesterday in Hyderabad, India.

The games were dominated by Russia with 100 medals of which 42 were gold, and China with 73 medals of which 38 were gold. The next closest was Germany with 30 medals of which seven were gold. (link).

The U.S. military took 10 medals, including gold, silver and bronze in boxing. Go USA! Some photo highlights from the U.S. teams:

* 10 points to whoever amongst us can name what sailboat class that is without looking it up. I think I know, but I am not quite certain.

We now resume our war.

Rope-a-dope Class? Or is it Rub-a-Dub? Or Rub-a-Dubya in honor of our Commander in Chief (who could probably outbicycle any world leader in the ... world).
