Name that building

shadow_weirdness.jpg

This is a screen capture of a satellite view of a Google map somewhere in Springfield. Three questions:

  1. If the top of the picture is almost straight north, what time of the day was this photo taken?
  2. When it was designed, did the architect realize what a strange shadow this building would cast?
  3. What building is it?

Hint: The building is only about three or four years old.

Listening to Johnny Rivers, but not dancing like those in the background of that video.

Comments

1. Morning.
2. Probably.
3. The new FBI building in Park South.

I immediately recognized the building in the picture. Well, after confirming it on Google maps. The shadow doesn't do the building justice. It's really an impressive building, so I would like to see the answers for 2 and 3.

But my guesstimation for 1 is just after 12 noon.

1 6:00 am
2 it looks like an evil guardian
3 fbi

here is another question; does it have a secret tunnel and where does it go?

You guys are scary, except no one said anything about my song.

1. just before noon - shadow is short and pointing almost north.
2. probably
3. FBI (like I would know!)

1. Noon, which is midnight somewhere else.

2. The building was designed by Hymie, CONTROL's robotic agent; he was actually trying to design a female robot and didn't consider the shadow.

3. Would you believe ... CONTROL regional HQ?

4. Regarding the song ... it's sort of interesting that spies and espionage were such a big pop-culture thing in the mid-60s (superficially,, it's easy to explain why -- Cold War and all that). Not surprisingly, I'd prefer this as a theme song for the building in question.

Dan, I love that song! I wanted to be 99 so bad.

We were religious watchers of "Get Smart"; I think my dad (and probably most of male America) had a major crush on 99.
