Waiting on a train


On the way to work one morning last week. I used to go out of the way to avoid waiting on trains. These days, unless they're stopped for a super long time, I don't mind waiting for them. I rather like it.

I got stopped by one in Pearl River, LA this morning. They usually blow through at that crossing but this one was slow moving. I don't mind them except when I'm late for work ... like this morning.

Did either of you see Jon Voight hanging around these trains?

In other news, I was surprised to get stopped on busy, six-lane Harlem Avenue on Chicago's Southwest Side by a freight that halted in a level crossing. The resulting traffic jam caused me to check out a detour that turned out to be a much better way to the far south suburbs. ...
