The end of Gatehouse Media?
Peoria Pundit has been covering what may be the final days of Gatehouse Media:
- Media: GateHouse on it's 'funeral march?'
- Media: Local philanthropist may be PJS's best hope if GateHouse tanks, analyst says (an original interview with newspaper analyst, Lauren Rich Fine)
- Media: GateHouse default likely, analyst says
- Media: Newspaper, cover thyself
This matters because Gatehouse stock (GHS) closed at 75 cents a share today, down from about $20 a share when it bought our own local paper, the State Journal-Register, in March of 2007. I don't know what the consequences of a bankruptcy would be for our paper. It depends on the type of bankruptcy, if they do file, that is. Standing by. Crossing fingers. Holding breath. Saying prayers.

That didn't take long. Take over your local newspaper in December and out of business in August?
