A distant beer

Should be easy for Springfieldians to tell where this is.

It starts with a "B". And another "B".

Using the picture and Google Maps street view, I can tell you that this is on the corner of W. Allen and Spring streets. (Right?) Can't make out the name, though--street view pix are very low rez. I will say that I wouldn't have guessed at the exterior from looking at this shot. Great picture, btw.

FWIW, it took about three minutes of trial and error on street view to find this corner (luckily, Allen is a short street).

One of my favorite spots in town.

Dave: Exactly!

Dan: Google Maps Street View = the new Sunday afternoon drive.

Will: Me too.

Google Streetview rocks.

Brian: I agree!

Also, I should have mentioned before that Dan, who left the comments above and found the location on Google Street View, lives in California and has never lived in Springfield.

I like the line about the new Sunday drive.

I surprised and delighted my dad by steering him over the phone to his street on the North Side of Chicago and then to the location of his car, parked around the corner from his place.

By the way, I tested a very Silicon Valley programmer friend (he hails originally from Omaha) to find the exact corner, and he said it took him 8 minutes.

It took half a second for me to figure that one out. Best pizza in town. I sat at that exact table last time I went.
