Palace Theatre

palace_theatre.jpg

According to Cinema Tour, the Palace Theatre operated at 1836 South 15th Street, Springfield, Illinois, from 1917 to 1928. I'm guessing this is the original building with a replacement facade. The portable sign on the right reads, "Temple of Deliverance It Ain't as Bad as it Seem!"

Across the street from Humphrey's Market.

On the one hand, it's great that the building is still standing, but on the other hand...UG-LY.

Cinema Treasures didn't have any additional information. I wonder what it looks like under the facade.
