Election day weather forecast

For Springfield, Illinois, on Tuesday:

Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s.

And it looks like it will be that way for all of the Midwest. Oh, a quick check of the four corners of the country show the same mild weather, except, unfortunately for the Northwest, which will have rain on voting day.

Barack Obama's election night celebration in Grant Park (which I've heard being called Obamapalooza) on Tuesday night looks like:

Scattered clouds, breezy and unusually mild. Rain-free! Temperatures at the start of the rally near 64 degrees falling to 56 degrees by the rally's end. --Tom Skilling, Chief Meteorologist, WGN-TV/Chicago Tribune

Good. One less thing to worry about.

Edit to add: NPR did a thing on "Exploring The Link Between Weather, Elections" on Sunday.
