Bailout thoughts

I'm getting the distinct impression we are being played as the biggest chumps who ever walked the face of the Earth.

Here's another thought: This whole bailout scheme, and everything that lined up to make it happen, was orchestrated to occur specifically before George Bush left office because the handwriting was on the wall that John McCain wouldn't get elected and the money corporations wouldn't get the same sympathy from a Barack Obama administration.

And, one more: I'm getting a very eerie feeling that something really big and something really bad is just over the horizon and we don't even know what's coming. Somebody knows, just not us.

Maybe I should have said, "the money corporations wouldn't OWN a Barack Obama administration the same way they would the others."

The auto bailout is entirely Democratically led. (You think the UAW votes republican in any significant percentage?) Also, the Obama Administration is going to provide more Stimuli (Stimuluses?) to "the People."

The theory might hold water if everything stopped with the bankers.

Next will be the airlines. Again.

Ben, Bailing out the auto industry is a far cry from bailing out CitiBank. Anyway, we don't know what the Detroit bailout will look like yet.

Some differences in the financial/auto bailout:

Finance: no unions Auto: major efforts to bust unions, hurt workers

Finance: no accountability or repayment expectation
Auto: Loans with strings and repayment expectations

I believe detroit should be bailed out. The financial assholes who took us here? not so much.
