Answers to Monday's questions

  1. Will the governor talk to the citizens in a meaningful way? No.
  2. Will the governor resign or stay in office? Stay.
  3. Will the Illinois Supreme Court grant the motions in front of it? Denied. Obviously, if the governor resigns first, these proceedings are moot. This part of the question is moot.
  4. Will the legislature pass a bill removing the governor's power to appoint a U.S. Senator? Not at this point. If the governor resigns, will they do it anyway? Who knows.
  5. If the governor does not resign, will the Illinois house begin impeachment proceedings? Not until the exploratory committee finishes its work. If so, how long will this take? Premature question.
