Dreaming of Antarctica

Not sure why I didn't, but I should have shared this a couple weeks ago. Kevin and Rachel Fox are blogging (after the fact, not live), their trip to the Continent of Antarctica and environs. The blog is up to day three of their trip and can be found at antarctic.fury.com. They're posting huge and vibrant photos with wonderful story lines. Like:

Midway through the night I needed to get up and clear everything from the tables and shelves, lest they slide off the desk next to my bed and on to my head (again).

Funny. And:

On a typical week-long expedition, a group is lucky to see one or two leopard seals, and many trips go by without seeing any at all. Imagine our surprise at not only coming across a leopard resting on some floating ice in the harbor, but in coming close enough to get pictures like these....

And then the National Geographic quality photo. Amazingly awesome!

They're up to day three of their travels (about 10 pages). In addition to the photos, it's quite educational, especially since most of us would never get to go there.

these are awesome. antarctica's one of a handful of places in the world i actually want to see, and probably the only one that's financially out of my reach.

Fabulous pics. I'm more than a little jealous.
