Burris
Any benevolence I may have had yesterday for Roland Burris's situation is fading fast, and Roland is doing nothing to restore it. All links are from the CapitolFax:
- This morning: Our Untrustworthy Junior Senator
- Later: This just in... Burris alters his story again *** Says he's open to ethics inquiry *** (he'll get his wish before the end of the day)
- Next: This just in... Speaker Madigan refers Burris materials to state's attorney *** Impeachment committee won't reconvene ***
- And: This just in... Senate ethics probe launched *** Tribune: Resign *** Quigley: Resign *** Orr: Resign ***
If Roland Burris still thinks his reputation is pristine, he's clueless. And you can't be clueless and hold the job of junior senator from Illinois. He should definitely resign. If he doesn't, he should call a press conference (without his lawyer) and in clear terms explain exactly why he's the best thing for Illinois right now.
