Jet contrails are one of the prettiest forms of air pollution.

I once read that during the few days following 9/11, when all aircraft were grounded, scientists could detect a measurable increase in solar radiation reaching the ground. Evidently, there are enough contrails in the sky at any one time to scatter sunlight in a way that's detectable. Without the contrails in the days following 9/11, we got more sun.
Now that you know that, I'll give you a minute to rub down the goose bumps.

Pete, You don't like to see sludge pouring into a river? Seriously, I agree with you.
Kem, I wonder if those were the same scientists who actually engineer the placement of contrails. LOL. Seriously, I remember the skies being very blue during those days.
