This is not America

As I read this most disdainful sounding anti-American tripe, I have to believe it's some delusional fantasy designed to create hate where it doesn't exist:

America's ALWAYS tried to do down Britain

First of all, whatever that means, it's not even true.

Has the worm turned at last? As the oil continues to gush in the Gulf of Mexico, angry rhetoric has gushed from President Barack Obama's lips. His rabid denunciations of BP have damaged the interests not only of that company but of most British people, in a way that must make us wonder whether he leads a friendly country.

Seriously? He thinks that's how BP got its problem? It goes on like that, seemingly endlessly, with jabs at Woodrow Wilson, Lyndon Johnson, and even John McCain, to name a few. And the sad thing is, if you read some of the 600 comments, people are not only buying into it, they're embracing it.

Sad, very sad.

Apologizes to David Bowie for the title of this post: This is not America.

We should stop badmouthing BP because everyone in Britain has BP stock in their retirement portfolio?

Yeah, I read that when it hit memeorandum. I was less than impressed too, to put it mildly. I will say though, that criticism of BP for getting us all into this mess is no substitute for stopping the ongoing spill or effective ways to clean it up.

Totally agree, Dave.
