From the archives. I'm running out of pictures.

Do you like baseball? The little boy does.

They walked in and the little boy saw there was no top on the building, that there was dirt and grass, and big boys like his dad throwing a ball.

Great story. Read it, but bring a box of tissues. [Via.]

This will take your tears away. Field of Dreams a nightmare as northern Illinois city, team bicker.

There was the play-by-play announcer who quit in a huff on the air, followed by the manager who quit via email. There was a player boycott, and a game in which position players were sent out to do the pitching - including former star Jose Canseco - outraging baseball purists. And when the players w eren't running the bases, they were racing to the bank to cash their checks before the money ran out.

As much as we'd like otherwise, some things can only happen in the movies.

Speaking of the purists, they chewed tobacco, went to the pool, played one night game under the fireworks, ate smores, and met a perfect beast.

Love, love, love The Little Boy, Marie. I think about what's passed down father to son a lot these days.

And I love the Zion baseball story. That sounds like a really low-rent version of "Bull Durham."
