Here comes the sun

As the sun starts to come up, you can catch a glimpse of things that were happening in the sky while you slept. Somewhere over the east side of Springfield.

* An American family at Christmastime: "Their apartment is clean and empty. The living room couch faces a bare wall where the TV once stood. There's little else in the place besides a dining room table. But this is better, Walsh says, than what she left."

* This looks like tornado alley, but it's really Southern California.

* Daniel Day Lewis looks more like Abraham Lincoln than Abraham Lincoln.

* We are all freaking out over the thought that Gatehouse may sell One Copley Plaza, Springfield, Illinois, and wondering what will become of the Great Western Railway Station.

* I am shocked that Herman Cain let his wife go on national television and explain how well she knows him, vouch for his character, and specifically how "he totally respects women." What was he thinking?

Maybe "respects" is a raunchy euphemism in the Cain household.

In no particular order:

*Great picture.
*Cain is a student of Eliot Spitzer's career. TV show next?
*I also loved that Southern California picture. Wow.
*Daniel Day-Lewis is the man. I'm sure his performance will stack up against Raymond Massey's and Henry Fonda's.
*That Christmas help story -- that's pretty jolting.
