Prison food

Rod Blagojevich got sentenced yesterday to 14 years in federal prison. To get an idea of how he'll be dining in prison, here are some menus I found from the federal prison system:

We don't know which prison he'll be going to, yet. But, I don't think it will be the "easy" kind of time you supposedly get at Oxford, Wisconsin. Just in case, here's the 2009 Inmate Admission and Orientation Booklet from Oxford (80 page PDF). I wonder if they'll give periodic quizzes on the booklet, like state employees have to take ethics tests.

Photo: Not prison food, but the remnants of a recent delicious lunch from the Feed Store (PDF) at my desk.

That Bureau of Prisons orientation booklet is good reading. I had facetiously suggested on Facebook that one of Blago's main concerns in the joint would be hair care. I see the BOP literature covers that.

I don't think I could pass up a restaurant called "The Feed Store". :) So what was it before it was remnants? I could go for The Pork Barrel right about now.
