Purple house

Lavender, actually. Also, nice antenna.

From the Department of Things I Wish I'd Said, one of the 100+ comments on the Nugent article:

An echo from the bizarre, alternate reality of the right wing. Where Obama has declared a 'war on religion', initiated a 'government takeover of healthcare', and goes around the world 'apologizing for America', etc.. Of course none of this is true and a child could easily see it. But, if one is predisposed to emotional manipulation, you want to believe it. The communist, boogie man in the White House that wants to take your guns away, and is building a victory mosque on ground zero, cause he's a Kenyan Muslim!!! It's a simplistic, binary world of good vs evil, with no gray areas, where Christianity and American exceptionalism is under attack by 'them'.
They frame their argument in this dire, outlandish way because the fact is their fundamentals tenants of conservatism, deregulation, and trickle down economic theory have failed. The only card they have to play is fear/hate mongering. It might get the dumb ones, but it won't prevail in the general election.
Biden in '16!

Except for that last part. I'd change that to Michelle Obama in '16!

Nothing like a nice antenna.

Not to get all confrontational with you, my friend Marie, but the government has been the big and growing gorilla in the healthcare room for decades now.

Shoot, I should have stopped at not to get all confrontational.

That's okay, Dave. Go for it. You may be right, but in all the years I've been going to Republican events and fundraisers (since before I could vote -- decades), I heard nary a peep over Medicare and government involvement in healthcare until Obama got in office. Why is that? Why did they wait until now?
